Uniform:
Full Scout Uniform, (Incl Scout Hat)

General Clothing:
Fodhla Hoodie & T-shirt if the scout has one
Warm jumpers/Fleeces
Warm trousers (Remember Denim clothing takes a long time to dry out)
T shirts, shorts, socks, underwear as required
Warm Hat & sun hat
Hiking boots & spare footwear – wellies

Boating Gear:
Swim gear & appropriate clothing
Boating shoes (flip flops not allowed in boats)
PFD
Oil skins Top and bottom

Sleeping Gear:
Insulating ground Mat
Sleeping bag
PJ’s
Cuddley Toy – optional (nothing of sentimental value)

Hygiene & Personal Care:
Complete wash kit incl towel & personal hygiene items.
High Factor Sun cream ( you never know !)

Medication, where required with prior notice to the leaders

Summer Camp 2014 Directions to Drop-off Point

Summer Camp 2014

 Location:                    Inchmore Island, Lough Gowna, Co. Longford

 Drop off point:          Carpark, Dring, Co. Longford

 GPS:                           53°49’07.00″N 7°33’01.00″W

 Directions:

  • Take N4 (via Mullingar) to Edgeworthstown
  • At 1st roundabout turn right into the town
  • Take 1st right signposted Granard (N55)
  • Continue on N55 to Granard (road swings right onto main street)
  • Take left turn signposted Longford R194
  • After 200m turn right onto Redmond’s Terrace
  • Continue for 4.7km and then take left turn (i.e. 3rd left after leaving Granard)
  • Continue for 1.8km and look for Carpark sign and lake on right

Fodhla May Bank Holiday Camp – Lough Dan

Group News

Camp will take place from Friday night May 2 to Monday May 5.

Kit will be the same as Easter Camp plus boating gear, as we maybe able to take part in some boating activites.  You should also bring Insect repellant with a high Deet content

Cost will be €45, payable on Thursday April 24.

For those going on splashdown we will be meeting in the den on Friday at 17:00 and will head down to Lough Dan from there. Pick up will be around 12 on Monday from Lough Dan. As there will be some boating on this camp everyone will need boating gear with them.

Full  uniform (Duck, neckerchief – newbies should also bring necker -, belt, whistle, knife and lanyard, jumper and scout trousers)

Fodhla hoodie / T-Shirts (for those who have them)

Full rain gear (top and bottoms, preferably separate to the ones being used for boating)
