Fodhla enjoyed a warm and sunny start to summer camp this year, in a beautiful field on the shore of Lough Boderg, Co. Roscommon. 45 scouts, supported by leaders Dara, Declan, Aine and rota of helpful parents, setup Watch tents, dining areas, dug latrine pits and grease pits, before settling down to sailing and rowing on the lake for 10 days. Eoghan Keegan instructed the girls in kayaking skills and brought them on half day trips to explore the lake and its various inlets and local villages. The girls also enjoyed two nights bivvying out in hand-made shelters and the entire group sailed down to Dromad for a day trip and a wander round a few local shops. Camp was struck on a damp day and the girls headed home to hang tents, shower and catch up on some sleep!
