Just to let people know that all scouts going on summer camp need to at the den on Wednesday at 1700 to lift the boats out and on Thursday at 1430 to help load the truck. We will be meeting in the den on Friday at 0900 and scouts must be in full scout uniform.

Hi all,

Preparation is now under way for the summer camp. We will be going to Lough Gamhna in Longford this year. Total cost is €220 (including deposit €50) and the balance is now due. Manannan will be camping from Friday July 18 until Sunday July 27. We will probably meet in the den on the Friday at 9:00AM, but this will be confirmed closer to the date. Here is a gear list for the camp. Items with a star beside them are compulsory and will be checked for before departure.

Hi All,

Preparation for this years summer camp is well under way. The camp for Manannan will be on Loch Gamhna from Friday 18th July until Sunday 27th July. We are now collecting deposits of €50. We need to collect over the coming weeks so as to gauge the numbers for camp. Cheqaues are to be made payable to Gasoga Mara 8. The total cost is €220.

Hi guys,

For those going on splashdown we will be meeting in the den on Friday at 1800 and will head down to Lough Dan from there. Pick up will be around 12 on Monday from Lough Dan. WL’s will organise lifts for each watch. There will be some boating on this camp so the guys will need boating gear with them. Total cost for the weekend is €30. Below is a gear list. Everyone should have all these things with them.

Full uniform (neckerchief, belt, whistle, knife and lanyard, jumper and scout trousers)

Manannan hoodie (for those who have them)

Boating gear (buoyancy aid, swimming togs, tshirt, light water proofs)

Hiking boots

Full rain gear (top and bottoms, preferably separate to the ones being used for boating)

Change of clothes for the weekend

Fleece

Hi guys,

Manannan will be doing their swim test this Friday night. Meeting will still be from 0730 until 0900. This is compulsory for all scouts. If, for some reason, a scout is unable to do the swim test this week we will arrange a date for them. The guys need to have full uniform for the meeting. For the swim they will need a tshirt, togs and boating shoes. They do not need buoyancy aids for the swim test.

Hi guys,

Hope everyone enjoyed Easter Camp. We are attending Splashdown on the May bank holiday weekend (Friday May 2- Monday May 5) in Lough Dan. Splashdown is a water based camp and there will be plenty of activities organised over the weekend. WL’s should have already contacted the scouts and anyone who is interested in attending should let them know. We shall confirm the price this Friday. It is also important to note that this Friday we will be having the swim test which is compulsory for all scouts. Any queries feel free to contact myself or Feargus.
