Campa na Cásca (Manannán)

Manannán News

Manannán will be camping in Powerscourt Demesne over Easter weekend, from Friday 30 March until Monday 2 April.

Scouts must come down to the Den on the Friday in full uniform, with hiking boots instead of black shoes.

Times:

We will be meeting in the Den at 1000 on Friday 30 March, with lifts leaving for Powerscourt between 1030 and 1100 once personal gear has been checked and group equipment loaded. We expect to be leaving Powerscourt on Monday 2 April at 1100, and finished putting equipment away in the Den at 1230. Watch Leaders will arrange lifts to and from Powerscourt for their watches.

Gear List:

Each Scout must have every item on this list to be permitted to go on this trip; Watch Leaders will be checking gear before departure from the Den on Friday.

Adequate clothing for 3 nights (spare trousers, boxers, socks, t-shirts, spare jumper)

Plate, bowl, cup, knife, fork, spoon

Tea towel (for Watch)

Torch

Sun cream, insect repellent

No more than €5 spending money

Mobile phones ARE NOT PERMITTED on this trip. Scouts who need to contact home during the trip can do so through the Section Leaders.

 

Cost:

The cost of this camp has been announced by each Watch Leader for their own watches.

 

Investiture:

New members will be formally invested into the Manannán troop over Easter Camp by making the Scout Promise. All Scouts must have full uniform for this. Any new member who has purchased a neckerchief from the Group for €10 will be presented with their neckerchief upon investiture.

Manannán hostelling 23-25 February

Manannán News

Manannán will be going on a hostelling trip to Lough Dan from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 November, details are as follows:

Times

We will be meeting in the Den at 2000 on Friday, with lifts leaving by 2030. Collection from Lough Dan on Sunday will be at 1030, with lifts arriving back at the Den at around 1130. Lifts will be arranged by each Watch.

 

Directions

Please click here for directions to Lough Dan Scout Centre. Cars should drop off in the main car park, and Scouts can walk to the hostel.

Mobile phones ARE NOT PERMITTED on this trip and may be confiscated for the duration of the weekend.

Cost

The total cost of this trip is €40 plus a food budget as decided by each Watch; this has been communicated to all Scouts by the Watch Leaders. This money will be collected by the Watch Leaders on Friday 16 February.
