UPDATE Manannán hostelling: sailing cancellation

We have been notified by Irish Ferries that the 1150 Dublin Swift sailing from Holyhead to Dublin has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. Manannán will instead be accommodated on the 1410 sailing on the Ulysses.

The change of schedule is as follows:

1410 Depart Port of Holyhead

1725 ETA in Dublin Port

1800 collect from Dublin Port Terminal 1 (Irish Ferries)

Anglesey Hostelling Trip (Manannán) – update

Manannán News

Manannán will be going on a hostelling trip to Anglesey, Wales, for 2 nights from 4-6 November. We will be staying in Anglesey Outdoors Hostel. The following are final details of the trip.

Times

We will be meeting outside Terminal 1 (Irish Ferries) in Dublin Port at 1300 on Friday 4 November. Our ETA back in Dublin Port on Sunday 6 November is 1339, so collection will be between 1400-1430, also from Terminal 1 (Irish Ferries).

 

Directions

Drop-off and collection will be from Terminal 1 (Irish Ferries) in Dublin Port, please click here for directions. Cross the Eastlink Bridge, and follow signs for Terminal 1. Then follow signs for Foot Passengers Check-In (separate lane to Car Passengers). Please allow time for traffic around the Terminal.

 

Gear list

All Scouts must wear their Manannán hoodie and neckerchief on the ferry.

All gear must be packed in one back-pack as we will be walking to the hostel. All Scouts must also leave some space in their bag to help carry their Watch’s shopping; this will be arranged by Watch Leaders on arrival in Dublin Port.   • old trousers that can get muddy

Congratulations to Manannán on coming first and third in this year’s Fry Cup.

Anglesey Hostelling Trip (Manannán) – update

The balance of €100 for Manannán’s upcoming hostelling trip to Wales is due at the meeting next Friday, 14 October. The final deadline to pay this balance is Friday 28 October.

Please note that we will have no meeting on Friday 21 October.

For any Scout who requested Scouting Ireland Travel Insurance, this costs an additional €10.60 on top of the balance. We arrange this through National Office, and no further action is required by Scouts for this.

A Medical and Consent Form required by the activity operators, Anglesey Outdoors, has been sent out to parents. We ask that this be filled out and returned with the balance.

The following are details of our hostelling trip for your reference:

We will be getting the ferry from Dublin Port to Holyhead on the Friday afternoon, 4 November, and returning to Dublin by ferry on the Sunday afternoon, 6 November. We will be staying in Anglesey Outdoors hostel, and activities will be arranged through the hostel. The itinerary will be as follows:

  • =Total cost: €150

The final balance now due is €100. Cheques must be made out to ‘GASOGA MARA 8’.
